Suggested Aftercare: This is just a quick over view. Your tattooer will give a more detailed sheet of instructions.
1. Wash your tattoo at least twice a day with antibacterial soap. It is important to keep your tattoo clean to prevent infection. We suggest original Dial Liquid Soap.
2. Use ointment on your tattoo for four days. The ointment acts as a skin barrier, and helps protect your tattoo from infection. We suggest the antibacterial ointment, Bacitracin. It can be found in the first aid aisle at your local store.
3. After the fourth day, your tattoo should start to heal, and form it's own natural barrier. The ointment is no longer needed. Stop using the ointment and switch to an unscented lotion. It's important to keep your tattoo from drying out during the healing process. Keep washing your tattoo. You may have some flaking and scabbing on your tattoo. This is normal. We suggest a lotion such as Lubriderm, Aveeno "Daily Moisturizing", or St. Ives "Intesive Healing".
4. Your tattoo should be completely healed in about 2 weeks. Healing times are different for everyone, this is just an estimate.
If you ever think your tattoo is infected, you should call your physician. None of these products should give you a burning sensation. If you experience this you may be allergic to it. Consult your tattooer about alternative products.
